Issues and Priorities
If elected, my goals for Mission Viejo are clear. They are grounded in fiscal responsibility, public safety, and protecting the quality of life that makes our city exceptional.
1. Enhance Public Safety
Public safety is the first responsibility of local government. Protecting residents, businesses, and property must remain our top priority.
Keep Mission Viejo among the safest cities in America
Ensure strong, responsible funding for police and fire services
Continue funding School Resource Officers to protect our campuses
Strengthen wildfire preparedness and fuel reduction efforts
Focus on prevention, readiness, and efficient emergency response
Fully supporting core public safety services protects our residents, businesses, and neighborhoods and helps ensure Mission Viejo remains one of the safest cities in America.
2. Strengthen the Mission Viejo Economy
A strong local economy allows us to sustain services without increasing the burden on taxpayers.
Streamline permitting and reduce unnecessary bureaucracy for small businesses
Partner with the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce to support local commerce
Maintain a business-friendly environment that attracts responsible investment
Encourage economic growth that strengthens our tax base and supports city services
A resilient local economy supports our community today while helping secure Mission Viejo’s future.
3. Sustain and Protect Our Infrastructure and
Community Assets
Our roads, parks, open spaces, recreation facilities, and library are long-term investments made by prior generations. We have a responsibility to maintain them wisely.
Prioritize maintenance of streets and public infrastructure
Preserve parks, trails, and open space through responsible planning
Invest carefully in recreation programs that serve families and seniors
Ensure city assets are maintained without unnecessary expansion of long-term liabilities
Preserve our long-standing tradition as a sports tourism destination that supports local businesses and reflects our community’s commitment to developing athletes
Thoughtful stewardship helps preserve these community assets so they continue serving residents well into the future.
4. Advocate for Mission Viejo and Protect Local
Control
Mission Viejo must have a strong voice beyond our city limits while protecting local decision-making.
Build productive relationships with county, state, and federal partners
Pursue grants and outside funding to reduce pressure on local taxpayers
Ensure our city’s interests are clearly and professionally represented
Safeguard local control and responsible budgeting
Effective advocacy means bringing resources home while defending the interests of our residents.
